Barewitness Films produces original, improvisation-based narratives that reflect the unique culture of the San Francisco Bay Area.

We are actors, directors, cinematographers, editors, and other creative collaborators telling stories with immediacy and honesty, using cinema verite techniques.

Barewitness members work on both sides of the camera, teaching and learning every aspect of filmmaking, and invite other artists in the community to join us on our productions.

We document this collaboration with commentary, photos, and video on our interactive website, and share our work and creative process at public screenings to educate and entertain.
